How to change the view of ten everyday objects.........
Object #1 Toilet paper
To change the view of this item I would put it on a plate at a dinner table. The table would be set in a fancy diner fashion, and the toilet paper would be at the head of the table and a pretty plate with a triangle cut out of it like a cake. A fork and a knife would be set to the side, askew as if they had just been used. The triangle of toilet paper would have a 'bite' taken out of it. This idea changes the look of toilet paper for the viewer because no one would ever eat toilet paper.... right?
Object #2 Dishes
For this I would set it up in a bathroom. Dishes would fill both the toilet, the sink, and the bathtub and would be made to look like they are coming from the facets themselves. The dishes would be slightly dirty, bit bits of left over food or sauce stains, some would even be littered around the ground. The bathroom would be a little dirty as well because of the constant flow of dirty dishes.
This brings to mind the endless flow of dishes mothers have to constantly deal with.
Object #3 Keys
The key is going to become a door, with the smaller jagged part as the bottom and the top that normally has holes as the top with windows. So instead of being used to unlock the doors, it is going to be the door itself.
Object #4 Shoes
To change the view of a shoe I would set up a placement on a end table and put various liquids in them. The shoes would then be used as cups with the laces stiffened and shaped like handles.. What's more weird than drinking out of a shoe?
Object #5 Clothes
For this idea there would be a room with glass show boxes spaced along the walls displaying different outfit like wedding dress, babies first clothe, a first day of school outfit. These clothes are being shown off because even though we spend a lot of money on them, sometimes you only end up wearing it once.
Object #6 Mirrors
For mirrors I would take everything in say a small broom closet and cover it in glass. Situated in a way that you can see ever part of the room from anywhere you stand with in the mirror.
Object #7 Plants
For plants making them really really big, over the size of a person, and placing them everywhere in a room to create an illusion that you are smaller.
Object #8 Books
I would take a bunch of books (or objects that are book like) and roll them into toilet paper rolls. This one you are never in the bathroom without something to read.
Object #9 Plastic
The idea of plastic is that it is slowly taking over. So by filling a closet full of plastic goods and then setting the door so it looks like they are pouring out or could fall out at any moment,
Object #10 Vase
For the Vase I would turn it into a lamp and have it placed like a lamp would be. Then when it gets dark it can turn on and the light will come from the inside of the a metal, stone, or dark colored vase. Then if you have a clear vase, you could put some flowers in it and have the light reflecting out the sides of the clear glass instead of out the top.
